I believe 90% of the world believes the NFL is rigged in some way. I’m not saying they determine the winner of every game, but I believe some games are controlled to have Vegas win money. If you ever needed any proof just look at the last two games.
Monday night, Saints vs. Buccaneers. The Bucs are down 16-3 with 6:11 left in the game. The Saints have the ball right around midfield on a 2nd & 8. They run a bootleg pass to Mark Ingram who is wide open in space. He runs for 7 yards and steps out of bounds before the first down marker with no one even close to him. He easily could have picked up the first down and essentially ice the game. Instead, he runs out of bounds making it 3rd & 1.
The Saints then inexplicably try to throw the ball on a quick slant route to a receiver who hadn’t been targeted all game. The pass falls incomplete, stopping the clock and forcing the Saints to punt the ball back to the Bucs. Everyone knows how the game ended. Brady led two long drives to help the Bucs come back from a 16-3 deficit to win 17-16.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, only 3 days later, the NFL decides to write almost the exact same game script? The Rams are down 16-3 with new QB Baker Mayfield, and the game felt like it was over in the 1st quarter. The situation was a little bit different in this game than it was in Tampa. The Rams are about to punt the ball away on 4th & 3 with 11:00 left on the clock. The Raiders DE Cleilin Ferrell decides to jump before the ball is snapped. As if a defensive end rushing up the middle has ever blocked a punt?
Just an inexcusable play by a bust of a player taken 4th overall in 2019. The Rams proceed to drive down the field and score a touchdown. The Raiders get the ball back, go 3 & out and then Baker leads a 98 yard game winning drive.
Both the Rams and Bucs were down 16-3 before winning their games 17-16. Something just seems a little fishy. In a matter of 3 days you have two of the most wild comebacks all because of a guy running out of bounds before the 1st down and a player jumping offsides on a punt.
If the NFL really is scripted, they need to do a better job making the game script. They are just getting lazy at this point.
